My mom told me that when she and my father moved in together he had an Eames chair like this and she hated it so she kept it in the basement and then one day threw it out - not sure what she was thinking. I guess my dad still thinks it’s in the basement and asks about it occasionally. I can guarantee that if she hadn’t thrown it out it would currently be in my living room. There’s at least 5 of these chairs in window displays within a 4 block radius of my Mission apt.
