Blogging platform Posterous takes preposterous swipe at Tumblr (Los Angeles Times)

But Posterous, the blog service that lets users post using e-mail, did just that Tuesday, taking a shot at a platform called Tumblr on its company blog. The headline: “Hey Tumblr users: Want comments? Need privacy? Graduate to Posterous.”

HA! I love how the LA Times journalist can barely contain their favoritism. Good luck with that, Posterous. Until you fix the product you designed around unreal expectations of human usage, your ‘swipes’ aren’t going to amount to much. Explaining why you think they should switch isn’t going to help if they don’t think they should.

Go outside, meet some people who aren’t engineers. You’ll be fascinated by what they actually want.
