Box Optimization: Video iPad Apps Could be a Boon to Apple TV
Whoa. Hadn’t even thought about this…
In my ever-evolving TV setup, it seems that a box is never added without mirroring part of the function of other boxes in my setup. It’s an odd balance of 4 boxes, all of which have some overlap of function, yet there has been no sort of disruption in 2 years that would allow me to have less than 4 boxes.
But in a few short weeks, iPad apps have covered all the functions of my boxes (save the physical media, Bluray bit.) If Apple TV ran apps, it would replace three devices and free up many outlets, inputs, and ethernet jacks.
Here’s hoping…
