I'm Drew Breunig and I obsess about technology, media, language, and culture. I live in New York, studied anthropology, and work in advertising technology.

These are reactions to things I feel are important.

Of course, today Pandora is sitting pretty thanks to a hard work and a serendipitous one-two-three punch. Punch one: The iPhone app, which changed the nature of Internet radio by making it mobile. Punch two: A nice $35 million round of funding from top investors. Punch three: Finally a reasonable settlement from the RIAA.

Sarah Lacy misses a punch: digital savvy kids grew up and joined the work force.

Separated from their iTunes libraries, these graduates shifted to Pandora, a service they’d used occasionally in college. I’d be willing to bet Pandora sees most of it’s usage during work hours and from users that previously only used the service sparingly from college.
