These numbers seem comically off. 26% penetration of 3D TVs in less than 2 years? 60% for internet TVs???
I wonder if these people realize U.S. broadband penetration has nearly flat-lined at ~65%. If they expect 90% of them to pony up for the beta product that is internet TV (and during a recession) they’re mad.
The enhanced TV mirage has snagged many a company. While something richer than run of the mill TV is sure to come, adoption isn’t going to be overnight. Execs shouldn’t be placing big bets on their own projected hopes when most people are fine with TV as-is. I sincerely hope Motorola isn’t actually constructing business plans around this research.
