Ben Silverman & Ricky Van Veen?

So if the lines are being read between correctly, it looks like Ben SIlverman and Ricky Van Veen are leaving their respective networks. Van Veen is staying in the IAC network, with Barry Diller backing Van Veen’s new project, “Notional.”

Silverman, on the other hand, is wisely abandoning ship as NBC sinks further. The network has basically ceded Summer and Fall isn’t looking strong. Vulture and TMZ have pegged Silverman as running to the waiting wings of Diller and IAC:

According to TMZ, Silverman is working with Barry Diller to “create a one-stop shopping [digital media] company that can produce, market, distribute and advertise new media.” Also, his first targeted hire is allegedly Seacrest, with whom TMZ claims he’s already in talks.

Diller’s sharp, and he’s not one to kick off two projects in a down market that both hit the same 16-24 year old demo. Expect Van Veen and Silverman to end up close, if not together.
